MEET THE FOUNDER
Shalana Monique Alexander, RN
A Louisiana native with a heart for healing and a passion for skin, Shalana began her career as a registered nurse, dedicating ten years to patient care. After experiencing burnout, she felt a calling to pivot — to merge her medical background with her lifelong love for skincare. That bold step led her to open Gleaux (pronounced “glow”) Aesthetics in May 2017, just one year after relocating from Kansas City, MO to Texas.
At Gleaux Aesthetics, Shalana carved out a distinct niche: correcting skin concerns for people of color, with a special focus on acne, hyperpigmentation, and premature aging. Her treatment approach was grounded in clinical knowledge, but infused with care, intention, and deep cultural understanding.
In 2020 — during the height of the COVID-19 shutdown — Shalana introduced her first three products: Radiant, Renew, and Fade.
These products were born out of necessity and deep expertise, formulated to serve the unique needs of her clients when in-office visits weren’t possible. Radiant and Renew continue to be bestsellers today, while Fade was later discontinued due to evolving regulations.
Over the course of 8 transformative years in the treatment room, and after launching a full line of 48 exclusive skincare products, Shalana made the decision to semi retire from hands-on services. Her focus is now on scaling her skincare line to reach and serve more people around the country — especially those who have long been underserved in the skincare industry.
Shalana’s work has been recognized by industry leaders and featured in publications like Multicultural Skin Treatments by JoElle Lee — a testament to her skill, expertise, and commitment to advancing skincare for melanin-rich complexions.
