Since June is Acne Awareness Month, I would like to highlight PCOS because it affects many of my female clients, their body & their skin negatively.

PCOS stands for polycystic ovary syndrome and unfortunately, many women suffer from this condition.
PCOS causes the body to produce excessive amounts of insulin. When insulin levels rise, this causes the ovaries to produce more androgens (male hormones) which stimulates an increase in oil production thereby promoting acne. The increase in androgens also produces unwanted facial hair.

Many times, the acne is very severe and cystic in nature and of course, it has a negative impact on women who have this condition. This coupled with unwanted facial hair has a huge effect on their self esteem.
Management of this condition often includes medications to control insulin & androgen levels and diet modification to help as well.

When clients come to me, they’re usually requesting help to fade the dark spots left from breakouts and they’re are in need of a good home regimen.
I have placed many of them on effective regimens to help fade and correct the dark spots with success and now that I am offering laser hair removal, I am able to help my clients more by eliminating embarrassing facial hair.

If you’ve been affected by PCOS and your skin needs a gleaux up or if you are tired of waxing, plucking or shaving your unwanted facial hair, give me a call/text at 281-509-0980 to discuss your options.
